Here is a quick glossary of promotions, phrases, and other words related to the great sport of puroresu.

AJPW: All Japan Pro Wrestling, one of the largest promotions in Japan
Apache Pro: An in dependant promotion formerly run by Kintaro Kanemura and currently run by Kuroda and Sasaki
Avalanche-Style: A move done from the top turnbuckle
BJPW: Big Japan Pro Wrestling, the largest death match promotion in Japan
Brainbuster: In Japan, a brainbuster is what we call a vertical suplex. What Americans refer to as a brainbuster in Japan is called a Vertical Drop Brainbuster.
Budokan: A popular venue in Japan that seats over 16,000 people (frequently used by Pro Wrestling NOAH)
DDT: Dramatic Dream Team, a small promotion led by Kota Ibushi
Death Match: A match that involves a variety of weapons and no disqualification
DRADITION: A wrestling promotion in Japan headed by Tatsumi Fujinami
Dragon Gate: One of the most popular promotions in Japan
El Dorado: A small off-shoot of the Toryumon system
FMW: Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, a now defunct death match promotion
Gaijin: Foreigner wrestling in Japan
Ganso: Original, or Innovator
Head Drop: A wrestling move that ends with one wrestler dropping another wrestler on his head or the top of his shoulders
Hustle: One of the most popular promotions in Japan
IGF: Inoki Genome Federation, a promotion run by Antonio Inoki
IWA Japan: A small in dependant promotion
Joshi: Women's wrestling in Japan
K-Dojo: A wrestling promotion in Japan headed by TAKA Michinoku
Kensuke Office: A wrestling promotion and dojo run by Kensuke Sasaki

Korakuen Hall: A popular smaller venue in Japan that seats over 2,000 people, used by many of the promotions in Japan
Michinoku Pro Wrestling: A wrestling promotion in Japan headed by Great Sasuke
